Our mission
Every woman and girl in Scotland who has survived rape or sexual abuse deserves access to specialist support, no matter where in the country she lives.
The Scottish Rape Crisis Alliance exists to make that a reality: representing the rights of women and girls, ensuring survivors’ experiences shape national priorities, and using our collective expertise to drive the meaningful, systemic change Scotland urgently needs. Survivors’ voices are central to all of it — their experiences shape our priorities, and we will support any woman who wants her voice to be heard.
Our vision, purpose & valuesWhy we exist
Scotland is experiencing a worrying rise in sexual violence against women and girls.
Recent figures from Police Scotland show reports of rape and attempted rape have increased sharply. We exist to hold governments and institutions to account, campaigning for the change women and girls so desperately need, and for the human right to live in safety, free from the threat of violence. The threat is also evolving: online exploitation is rising, from deepfake and AI nudification abuse to violent pornography, non-fatal strangulation and commercial sexual exploitation.

Our role
Working for the protection of women and girls
The SRCA brings together rape crisis centres working across Scotland. Every centre retains its independence. What we share is a common purpose - a Scotland where no woman or girl lives under the threat of male violence.
In numbers
Together we represent over 31% of national support for survivors
Collectively our founding members represent over 31% of Scotland’s female population, and delivered 40% of national support to 4,393 survivors in 2025/26. Independent in delivery — united in purpose.
